Textile Enterprises Ltd set for growth after productivity, marketing, and export support

July 9, 2025

Background

Textile Enterprises Ltd is a family-run manufacturer specialising in braiding narrow fabrics such as cords, elastics, shoelaces, and bag handles. The company has been in business since 1995, serves a wide range of sectors, and has big ambitions for commercial growth and international expansion. The business was approached by the Leicester Productivity Programme, who outlined the fully funded support available to the company who jumped at the opportunity to register!

Fully funded support provided

The business collaborated with productivity specialists James Smith and Mark Taft from Exemplas Ltd (Leicester Productivity Programme delivery provider), who combined expert advice underpinned by the use of an industry-leading Productivity Diagnostic Tool. This comprehensive research-backed diagnostic was used to directly pinpoint areas in the business where productivity gains could be implemented and achieved. The business was then referred to Business Growth Consultant, Chris Kinvig, from Lean Six Sigma, who developed a bespoke project to meet the company’s requirements.

The consultant conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis that identified Textile Enterprises’ strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This served as the foundation for a step-by-step strategic plan to drive revenue growth through improved marketing. The company was then introduced to the Department for International Trade (DIT) with the aim of opening pathways to international markets.

How has the Leicester Productivity Programme made a difference?

The support from LPP has been transformative, providing connections to key expertise and giving the company renewed confidence and direction.

The journey has encouraged the firm to make strategic investments in marketing and infrastructure – areas it hadn’t explored before. Textile Enterprises is now undergoing a major rebranding with the marketing agency Vivid Creative, which includes a new logo and website. The agency is also preparing digital assets for multilingual translation and international visibility. More initiatives, such as social media marketing, are in the pipeline.

Thanks to support from DIT, the company can ensure its digital presence meets international standards before fully embarking on export activities. Textile Enterprises is now looking forward to healthy growth, potential recruitment and a stronger overseas presence.

“Thanks to the support, we’ve taken our first major steps towards repositioning our brand, redesigning our digital presence and preparing for export. The guidance we’ve received has been eye-opening and incredibly empowering. Most importantly, it’s given us the confidence to invest in areas we’d never explored before.

“We’re now optimistic about our future, scaling up operations, expanding our team and growing our footprint internationally. We’re truly grateful for the opportunities the LPP has provided. It’s an invaluable resource for any business that’s ready to grow but unsure where to begin.”
